The town of Glyndon was founded in 1872. The town was platted as a railway village as the railroad went right through the town. The small town was named by officers from the Northern Pacific Railway. The name Glyndon came from popular writer of Atlantic Hearth and Home, Laura Catherine Redden Searing who used the name Howard Glyndon as a pen name. 

According to the 2020 census, the population of Glyndon was at 1,362. For a very small town, the town continues to thrive! The town of Glydon is home to the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School where their team name is the Rebels. In 1967, Glyndon and Felton combined schools and in 1994 is when Dilworth joined the two.The population combined between the three cities is roughly six thousand and the total enrollment for K-12 is over thirteen hundred. 

The town has many different attractions including the Buffalo River Race Track, Regional Science Center and Top End Dragways. There are also recreational attractions nearby which include the Ponderosa Golf Club and Buffalo River State Park. If you are looking for a bite to eat, stop at either Jasmine’s Ice Cream and Cafe or Morty’s Bar & Grill!
