Coon Rapids is the northernmost suburb of Minneapolis, located just twelve miles north along the Mississippi. We can't forget some fun facts about Coon Rapids as well! The Coon Rapids Dam was completed in 1914 after an influx of laborers and engineers increased the city's population to over 1,000. The Dam was first used as a regional power source for the North States Power Company, but has not been incorporated into the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park.
