Superior Charter Township is located in Washtenaw County Michigan, just west of Detroit. The township encompasses 36 square miles and over 14,000 residents call Superior Township home.
The first lands were sold to the settlers in the 1820's by the Federal government and Superior Township remained a farming community for many years. In 1941, the Willow Run bomber plant and the Willow Run Airport were built. It was then that Superior Township experienced dramatic growth with the influx of war-time workers and their families. Superior Township is also home to three highly rated school districts: Ann Arbor Public Schools, Canton-Plymouth School District and the Ypsilanti Community School District.
The involvement of the townships residents has been evident, as those residents have contributed their talents, skills and ideas to help preserve and improve the quality of life in Superior Township. The rural atmosphere and natural features are what the Superior Township residents like the best!
