Greenbelt is a city in Prince George's County, Maryland, and a suburb of Washington, D.C. with a population of 24,921 as of the 2020 census.
It is the first & largest of the three experimental and controversial New Deal Greenbelt Towns, the others being Greenhills, Ohio, and Greendale, Wisconsin. Greenbelt was planned and built by the Federal government and became official in 1935. Its population grew to 24,921 in 2020 from 23,068 in 2010.
Two major highways pass through and have interchanges in Greenbelt: the Capital Beltway (I-95/I-495) & the National Park Service's owned and maintained portion of the Baltimore–Washington Parkway (unsigned MD 295). The Greenbelt portion of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (B–W Parkway) is part of the parkway's 19-mile section, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
Greenbelt Road is part of state highway MD 193, which connects several suburban communities in both PG and Montgomery counties. Kenilworth Avenue (MD 201) traverses Greenbelt in a north-south direction, running parallel to the B–W Parkway, providing an alternate travel route into DC from Greenbelt. The southernmost MD portion of Kenilworth Ave forms a major interchange with both the B-W Parkway and US 50 near the MD-DC line, and continues into DC as the Kenilworth Ave Freeway (DC 295).
Washington Metro's rail system serves DC & neighboring MD and Northern VA by operating 91 Metro stations that include the Greenbelt station, the northern terminus of Metro's Green Line. Commuter rail service to the station is provided by MARC Train's Camden Line, which connects DC's Washington Union Station with Camden Station in Baltimore.

On a recent Thursday before Memorial Day, I was traveling outside of the country, with my niece staying in our house, when she discovered a catastrophic leak coming from our third floor hall bathroom. Water had flooded the bathroom, adjacent bedrooms, was pooling in the drywall in our second floor dining room, was pouring down from our dining room chandelier, soaked our dining room set and made its way down through our hardwood flooring, and was dripping from our basement ceiling onto the carpeting of our finished basement. My niece called me frantically when she discovered the leak, and in turn I made a quick call to Trinh Le of SERVPRO of Rockville (and SERVPRO of Laurel & Greenbelt NE/Beltsville E).
Within one hour of that phone call, one of her teams was in our house working diligently to stop the water and mitigate the damage. They worked late into the evening, sopping up water, pulling up carpeting, removing fixtures, carpeting and drywall, and installing air movers and evaporators to address the water issues. We arrived home on Saturday night, and first thing Sunday morning another team met us at the house to assess the damage and determine what further steps were necessary. Unfortunately, water had gotten into the tile floor in the bathroom, and further remediation work was done on the spot, even though it was a Sunday during the memorial day weekend.
The SERVPRO of Rockville (& Laurel) team worked directly with my insurance company, they were fast and responsive, highly professional and saved me from a much bigger issues had I not called them... Briand and his team were excellent. I couldn't ask for a better crew -- they removed all the floors in the master bedroom and bathroom and laundry and set up the air vacs and dehumidifier. Before embarking on anything Briand explained to me what was to be done and he answered all the questions I had for him. The crew with him were awesome. On the appointment dates and times, they were there on time and called me 15 minutes before arrival.
One thing I can attest was the respect they had for my items and the trust as I did not need to worry. Safety and trust was key for me and I would trust this Team and would highly recommend Briand.
Sergio and two other (crew members) were outstanding and did an amazing job of cleaning and removing a dreadful mess when our garage ceiling fell down with what looked like tons of loose insulation. We cannot thank them enough.
The crew showed up very soon after we called them and stayed late into the night until the job was complete. Everyone was very professional and worked non-stop until finished. We were told when they would arrive and they showed up right on time and went right to work.
We had substantial water damage in our kitchen and basement due to old, leaky pipes. At the advice of our plumber, we contacted SERVPRO and their remediation team was out and at our house within 3 hours of our initial call. At first, I thought they were just going to take stock of the damage, but the team started the remediation that very afternoon. I was very pleasantly surprised.
In parallel to the remediation efforts, SERVPRO sent someone out to assess the cost of reconstruction, coordinated with an asbestos abatement contractor, and worked with our insurance. Without fail, everyone I spoke to at SERVPRO was courteous, helpful, and incredibly quick in responding to questions and concerns that arose. Ultimately we felt so confident in the services that had already been rendered that we opted to have SERVPRO do the repairs to our home (including some upgrades to the basement).
Their team did great work and were happy to address the few issues that we encountered. Hopefully we will never have need of remediation services again, but if we do SERVPRO will unequivocally be our first call.
Carlos and his SERVPRO crew were amazing. They arrived at our home on time, fully prepared to complete the work needed to address the water leakage in our basement. Carlos explained every step of the process and answered all of our questions so that we had a good understanding of what was going to happen. He immediately gained our confidence, which was well deserved, as the outcome of the work was perfect.

SERVPRO was very helpful at an extremely stressful time - my elderly parents had a lot of water damage to all three levels of their home during a pandemic. They took care of our problem from mold remediation to removal of damaged property, to testing and removing asbestos tile and remodeling and reconstruction.
