Sullivan Indiana was founded in 1853 and became the county seat, Dedicated in 1862. Sullivan County was named forDaniel Sullivan, who is said by some to have been a Revolutionary War general killed by Native Americans while carrying a dispatch between Fort Vincennes and Louisville. The county is located in the west-central area of the state.
