Cynthiana Indiana is a small town that is part of Posey County. It's population was 545 in 2010. One of the interesting and unique things about Cynthiana is that it houses a company that is known internationally for creating Halloween and haunted house props. It also manufactures something that many if not all schools across that country use, marching band uniforms. The company is called Band Shoppe. The town is also home to the Cynthiana Martial Arts and Headquarters for the Kido Kwan Martial Art International.
Cynthiana got its name from a nearby state when 44 of its settlers moved there. The town was actually plotted in 1817 but it did not become an actual town until 1896. Children that live in this community go to nearby schools as they no longer have their own school within the city limits of Cynthiana.
