Camp Point is a village in Adams County, IL. Camp Point was founded in 1835 by Peter Garrett and was originally called Garrett's Mills. A schoolhouse was built here in 1836. Then a family named Farlow started to build the town more. Since 1855, it has been a peaceful but progressive village. Their residents enjoy a small-town identity while living near a larger city. Whether it’s workmanship or an ice cream social, they do the job right. More enthusiasm means more success. Camp Point holds a treasured tradition but also exhibits realistic expectations. Their Community is definitely ready for the future! Today, Camp Point is a quiet village with over 1,200 people and over 75 businesses.  It is governed by an elected Mayor and 6 Trustees.  The largest employer in Camp Point is Timber Point Healthcare Center- 110-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. Their newest large employer is Ursa Farmers Co-op (UFC), with a new facility on the East end of town, it is one of the largest grain facilities around.
