Kingston Ga, was incorporated into Bartow County in 1850 and was named for Judge John Pendleton King, a US Senator from Georgia. It has a rich antebellum history as evident by exhibits like artifacts, photographs and scrapbooks maintained by the Kingston Woman’s History Club. It is a small city within Bartow County with a population around 722 (as of 2020 census) and covers about one and a quarter square miles. Through the center of town runs Georgia State Route 293, otherwise known as Kingston Highway. Kingston is roughly eleven miles northeast of Cartersville, Ga and thirteen miles east of Rome, Ga. Nearby Kingston Kingston Downs was home to the Atlanta Steeplechase for nearly two decades.
