Barnsley Resort is a beautiful estate created by Godfrey Barnsley in the 1840's in the North Georgia foothills that was converted into a resort in 1991. Originally the property was called “Barnsley Gardens” named after the property's beautifully historically restored gardens, but was changed to “Barnsley Resort” after many amenities were added.

It is located in Adairsville Georgia off I-75 and is approximately an hour from both Atlanta and Chattanooga and spans over 3,000 acres. The resort provides a number of amenities and services including a spa, fitness center, 16,000 sq. ft. of indoor meeting and event spaces, a swimming pool, equestrian center, a hotel, cabins, Beretta Shooting Grounds by High Adventures Company, a championship 18-hole golf course, several restaurants and a beer garden.

In the early 1840’s, Barnsley manor was built by Godfrey Barnsley for his wife Julia, who passed before the estate was completed. He completed the estate after her death and his descendants lived at and maintained the estate until 1988 when Prince Hubertus Fugger purchased the property and undertook the project of preserving the historical sites and restored the gardens to their former glory. Today the resort is privately owned but visitors can visit the historical grounds and get a glimpse into the past.

Today the resort is a major attraction for business retreats, conferences, weddings, and is a great vacation destination. Having rustic country appeal while still providing modern amenities for convenience and first class service. The resort is a great choice if you have children and or pets, they have made special accommodations for both children and your furry friends. Xavier was the supervising technician for this project. He was polite, professional, non stop working to get the job done as efficiently as possible. He also explained everything to me and answered my questions easily and made me feel comfortable about what they were doing and what the end result would be. I had water damage from a refrigerator leak that damaged flooring and cabinets and also leaked into ceiling tiles in the basement.
