So, what is Vanderbilt Beach, Florida like?
Vanderbilt Beach is an unincorporated community in Collier County, Florida, very close to Naples. Pelican Bay is just to the south and Naples Park to the east. Vanderbilt Beach is only about 9 miles from the center of Naples, making it a great place to live for easy access to adventure.
The average temperature in Vanderbilt Beach is similar to the rest of Naples, which averages 75 degrees during the year. Because of its temperate climate, Vanderbilt Beach is a great place to visit at any time of year. In most months the sun shines and it's warm—ideal for people who don't enjoy extreme cold while they're on holiday or young people whose skin might be sensitive to sunlight.
History of Naples
John Stuart Williams, Walter N. Haldeman and other men founded Naples in Florida—a city they named after Italy's famed town of the same name.
For decades, railroads had been the predominant means of transportation in Florida. In 1927, however, a major shift took place that affected all levels of society—the Seaboard Air Line Railroad extended its reach from Miami to Naples (two places symbolizing these changes well).
Although the Naples Municipal Airport was built during World War II, it is used primarily by private pilots today.
