Deerfield Beach is located in Broward County, Florida, right along the Palm Beach County line. The population as of 2020 was around 87,000 people.
The weather in Deerfield Beach is mild most of the year, with the lowest lows being around 60 degrees Fahrenheit and the highest highs being around 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
History of Deerfield Beach, FL
The area was first settled in 1890 when it was initially called Hillsborough. The settlement was developed along the Hillsboro River, hence the initial settlement name. in 1898, the population was up to 20 people, and it had its own post office. The town was then renamed Deerfield after the many deer that grazed in the area.
In the early days of Deerfield, settlers were mostly farmers. The majority of them grew pineapples, tomatoes, herein beans, and squash. They also had an abundance of fish available along the Intracoastal Waterway. The community officially changed its name to Deerfield Beach in 1939 to let tourists know there is a beach.
