A Town with History
With 32 buildings in Roxbury Center on the National Register of Historic Places, one could say that the town itself is a historic landmark. Roxbury is known for Mine Hill and the quarries that provided silver, iron and granite to the country. The Roxbury Iron Mine and Furnace Complex are also on the Historic Register. For the nature enthusiast, the Roxbury Land Trust has 3,800 acres of open space under it's stewardship, including 32 preserves and over 30 miles of hiking trails.

The trails can be hiked throughout the year, and even snowshoed in the middle of winter! Snow is something we expect and many of us enjoy here in CT.
