Orangevale has old history in Sacramento County, where Orange Valley Colony in 1874 had orange groves that grew. Orangevale had its own growth from farming oranges which lead to its name. Orange trees and olive vineyards sprang forth and brought more with it. Some Native American tribes made the trails all around Orangevale. Older Mexican settlements arrived in Orangevale creating missions. Orangevale has unique weather where it has a Mediterranean climate. Interstate 80 and US Route 50  run through Orangevale. Some famous people used came from Orangevale such as Steve Lamson a former professional motocross racer and Mary Whipple an Olympian from the 2008 and 2004. Orangevale has the SACRT transit system to the city. Orangevale has many construction developments all around with suburban areas creating new growth.
