The neighborhood of Casa Blanca
With a population of 5,795, Casa Blanca is a neighborhood in Riverside California. Most residents own their homes. Living here offers residents a sparse suburban feel. This neighborhood is a close-knit, family orientated and mostly residential neighborhood. The architectural style of many of the homes found here are of early 20th century architectural styles, especially California Bungalow. This quaint little neighborhood was named by Henry Benedict Lockwood and his mother, Ms. LeGrande Lockwood, when they moved into their new white plastered adobe home, calling it Casa Blanca meaning “White House.” The area was beautifully and elaborately landscaped so extra ordinary that the general area was soon known as Casa Blanca.
The homes in Casa Blanca surround the neighborhood’s central recreational feature, Villegas park and the Ismael Villegas Center. Today the community center and Villegas Park offers innovative recreational experiences and social enrichment opportunities. The center provides recreation and fitness services to the community and rely on volunteers in such areas as Programs for Disabled, Basketball, Flag Football, Soccer, Fitness/Exercise, Mentorship, Senior Programs, Tutoring, Teen Programs and Youth Sports Programs. These services are designed for preschoolers, school age children, teens, adults, seniors and families.
