Barstow is a city in San Bernardino County, California, in the Mojave Desert of Southern California. It is an important part of the Inland Empire region. Barstow may be best known for being home to the Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow. 

It has a number of other features, however, including museums and public art. Main Street has a series of murals that show the history of this city. A local nonprofit organization, Main Street Murals, deserves credit for this feature.

The Barstow Bran Library, on E. Buena Vista Street, functions as a community center as well place to borrow books, movies, and games. It runs various activities such summer reading program for children, story and craft sessions as well as a mystery book club.
