History of White Hall  

Just off Arkansas Highway 365 sits the City of White Hall. Despite its humble beginnings as a rest stop for nineteenth-century settlers, it has now flourished into a suburb of over 5,000 people. This city owes its growth to its natural clean water sources and its proximity to the Dollarway Road, which was the first concrete road in Arkansas. During World War II, White Hall became one of Arkansas’ ten fastest growing cities, due to the nearby Pine Bluff Arsenal. Today, this area continues to grow due to the National Center for Toxicological Research, which was established nearby in the 1970s.
