Fire Damage or Water Damage Restoration in McAlmont, AR

McAlmont, AR, is an incorporated community within Pulaski County. It was founded in the mid-1800s when farmers started cultivating land on the Northern side of the Arkansas River. Charles Robinson obtained the first land patent in 1837. Others followed shortly after, including David Spence (1838), Lucy Beasley (1839), and Edward Cook (1839). However, the area is named after John McAlmont, who moved into the area in 1850. He was a confederate army major and one of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) founders.

McAlmont, AR, has a sparsely urban feel. One can access wide-ranging services in the area, including early education and federally-funded scholarships at UAMS or Haris Head Start, self-storage services at J and J Enterprises Discount Mini Store, and towing services from Fire 2 Towing & Recovery, among others. When planning to hold an event, the Second Season Event Center is convenient for small groups of people.

Wood is a dominant material in most properties since it is used in structural areas, fixtures, and contents such as furniture. Exposure to smoke residues and moisture mostly leaves restorable fire damage or water damage. However, the applicable repair methods differ, so clearly understanding them is essential.

Helpful Cleaning Methods

  • Wet cleaning
  • Dry cleaning
  • Semi-refinishing
  • Polishing

Wood items differ, especially in terms of finishing. Unfinished wood surfaces in furniture or fixtures are porous, so cleaning efforts can send residues deeper into the material rather than removing them. Our SERVPRO technicians use various dry-cleaning approaches to prevent such deterioration when removing residues.

Dry Cleaning Mediums

  • Feather dusters
  • Dusting clothes
  • Vacuums
  • Dry cleaning sponges

Dry cleaning cannot work if the items are already wet, such as during water damage incidents. Therefore, exploring options such as wet cleaning is ideal. The option allows the use of detergents to remove moderate to heavy soils. In case of heavy soiling, our SERVPRO crews opt for an advanced option, such as semi-refinishing surfaces with wood crème paste.

Every property has wooden furniture, whether the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department, a pawn shop like McCain Trading, or a driving school such as the WorldLink Truck Driving academy. SERVPRO offers a wide range of restorative cleaning services to match the fire damage conditions at your property.

When half our house flooded at midnight with ankle deep water, I was panicked and wasn’t sure what to do. We live in a rural area and I wasn’t confident we would find someone who could come out so late and help us immediately. I found ServPro via Google search and called and immediately got someone who was incredibly helpful. They sent a crew out to our house in the middle of the night and got all of the water cleaned up and started everything drying out. JB, Clay, Chelle and Claire were so nice and professional. We are so grateful they were able to get here so fast and had such a great attitude and work ethic, even at 3 AM.
