St. Johns, sometimes written out Saint Johns, is the area located south of Jacksonville and Julington Creek and the Julington Durbin Creek Nature Preserve in northern St. John's County. It is an unincorporated community and a suburb of Jacksonville. The area was formerly included in Jacksonville in United States Postal Service listings, even though it was located in St. Johns County. In 2005, the local chamber of commerce decided on a new name to distinguish the community in a USPS poll. "St. Johns" was chosen, though area activists and residents, especially those in the historic communities of Fruit Cove and Switzerland, argued against the new name.

St. Johns encompasses Fruit Cove, Switzerland, Julington Creek Plantation, Durbin Creek, Mill Creek, Rivertown, Cimarron Golf Club, Beachwalk, and Bartram. The area has grown significantly since the 2000 census and is now thought to house over 86,000 residents. In the last 20-25 years, many acres that were previously horse farms, slash pine, turpentine, and old citrus farms were developed into Community Development Districts (CDD) and HOA-managed single-family neighborhoods. 

There are several public parks in this area including Alpine Groves Park, Veterans Park, Maplewood Park, Julington Creek Plantation Park, and St. Johns County Recreation facility.
