The city of Falkville is located in the northern part of the State of Alabama in Morgan County. The city is included in the Decatur Metropolitan and Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Areas. The current population of Falkville is roughly 1,200 people. The city is strategically located just one hour from two of Alabama's largest cities, and has direct access to I-65. The city boast of a safe living environment, outstanding schools, prompt police and fire protection, and quality recreational facilities such as Jack McCaig Park, Morgan County South Park, and many more.

Falkville was named after Louis M. Falk, a Prussian merchant who immigrated to America in 1857. Louis opened a small general store on the official site of Falkville in 1859. In 1875, Falkville was first incorporated with a mayor and councilmen. The Towns first recorded population was 154 people.
