Meet Our Team

Randy Oosterheert is the owner of SERVPRO of Southwest and Northwest Grand Rapids. He joined the franchise in 2009 as a Production Technician and took on additional responsibilities as he gained experience which lead to his position as a Project Manager. After managing crews and projects for some time Randy decided to purchase the business and provide the best service in the industry.

Randy has the following certifications from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC): Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT), Fire and Smoke Damage Restoration, Bio-Hazard Clean Up, Severe Safety Training, and also Applied Structural Drying Certification (ASD). Randy is also certified by the EPA for Lead Safety. Lastly, he has maintained his Residential Builders license since 2002.

On a daily basis, Randy communicates with insurance adjusters, insurance agents, and home/business owners to be sure that the the entire process moves forward smoothly and efficiently. As the owner, he personally monitors the progress of active jobs. Our clients can have confidence that they are in the best and most capable hands.

Randy is married with 3 kids. He has spent 20 years in the Calvinist Cadet Corps, and enjoys hunting, fishing, and a variety of sports.

We’re lucky to have Jodi as part of our team here at SERVPRO! Although her official title is Administrative Assistant, Jodi contributes so much more than that — she’s an invaluable part of our office team and a key support to the whole crew.

Jodi is Randy's wife, and together, they’re raising three wonderful children. She’s been with SERVPRO since 2018, and in that time, she’s made a huge impact with her positive attitude and tireless work ethic.

In addition to her role at SERVPRO, Jodi has been actively involved with the GEMS girl club for 15 years, helping to mentor and inspire young girls. Outside of work, she’s all about staying active, enjoying volleyball, pickleball, and of course, cheering on her kids at their sporting events.

Her smile truly lights up our office, and her warm, welcoming energy makes everyone feel like part of the family. We’re so grateful to have Jodi with us!

Say hello to Cathie, the backbone of our front office at SERVPRO of Southwest and Northwest Grand Rapids! With over 17 years of experience with us, Cathie plays a crucial role in keeping everything running smoothly. From managing payroll and estimated to handling accounts receivables, job tracking, and much more, she’s involved in almost every aspect of our daily operations.

Cathie’s experience and attention to detail make her an essential part of our team. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her 7 grandchildren, making memories and enjoying her family to the fullest.

We’re incredibly grateful for Cathie’s hard work, dedication, and the warmth she brings to our office every day. She truly is the heart of our team!

John Docter is a Sales and Marketing Representatives at SERVPRO of Southwest and Northwest Grand Rapids. Upon joining our Team in 2013 he completed our rigorous SERVPRO Employee Certification Training Program. This program teaches advanced cleaning and restoration techniques and how to properly use our state-of-the-art equipment. This training program also focuses on listening skills and customer service. John has a strong worth ethic and is known around our office for his/her attention to detail. He is a licensed builder with 20+ years in building trades and is ready to work with commercial accounts to protect your investment.

His daily tasks consist of building and maintaining relationships with insurance and facilities professionals throughout our service area. You will find John involved in events and seminars all over the greater Grand Rapids area, educating the community on the importance of disaster prevention.

John brings great family values to the team as he lives for his wife of 45 years, 4 children, 11 grandchildren and his hobbies of camping, fishing and hunting. You will likely bump into John at a local high school sporting event as he supports his grand children in their endeavors.

Michelle Cooper is a Sales and Marketing Representative at SERVPRO of Southwest and Northwest Grand Rapids. Michelle joined the SERVPRO Team in 2021. Michelle has 25 years experience in home design and improvements in the West Michigan area. She was worked with several insurance companies in making sure her clients are taken good care of after the unexpected has occurred.

Her daily tasks consist of building and maintaining relationships with insurance and facilities professionals throughout our service area. You will find Michelle involved in events and seminars all over the greater Grand Rapids area, educating the community on the importance of disaster prevention.

Michelle enjoys spending time with family, traveling and volunteering at different events and organizations.

Introducing Joe, our expert in sales and marketing with a special focus on our commercial accounts here at SERVPRO. With over 15 years of experience in sales, Joe brings a wealth of knowledge and a strategic approach to building and maintaining strong relationships with our commercial clients.

Joe has been married to his wife, Jordan, for two years, and together, they enjoy attending sporting events and spending quality time with their family.

We’re thrilled to have Joe on our team, where his sales expertise and enthusiasm for building connections help drive our continued growth and success!

Joyce Emelander is a Senior project manager here at SERVPRO of Southwest and Northwest Grand Rapids. Upon joining our Team in 2007 she completed our rigorous SERVPRO Employee Certification Training Program. This program teaches advanced cleaning and restoration techniques and how to properly use our state-of-the-art equipment. This training program also focuses on listening skills and customer service.

Joyce has extensive experience in the restoration industry and is certified under Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) in the following areas: Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT), Fire and Smoke Damage Restoration (SRT), Odor Control, Commercial Carpet care, Bio Hazard Clean up, and Severe Safety Training. Additionally, Joyce is certified by the EPA for Lead Safety. She is our safety guru, attending SERVPRO’s yearly safety training course and examination.

Joyce is typically either in the field, restoring homes and businesses back to normal, or at the shop putting her textiles expertise to work. As our textiles expert, Joyce is a certified Esporta wash system operator specializing in restoration of smoke and water damage textiles.

Joyce is married with 4 children, a proud Army mom veteran, and 15 grandchildren. She enjoys quilting, camping and quality time with family and friends.

Say hello to Rick Prentice, our skilled Project Manager at SERVPRO of Southwest and Northwest Grand Rapids. Rick joined our team in 2018 as a Production Technician and quickly rose through the ranks, thanks to his hard work and dedication. He completed our rigorous SERVPRO employee Certification Training Program, where he gained expertise in advanced cleaning and restoration techniques, mastering our state-of-the-art equipment, and honing his skills in customer service and active listening.

With a strong background in facilities maintenance, Rick brings a wealth of experience to his role. His daily responsibilities include overseeing emergency water restoration and fire restoration projects, ensuring that every job is handled with precision and care.

Outside of work, Rick is married and has two wonderful daughters. He enjoys spending quality time with his family and is an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast, always up for a game of almost any kind.

We’re proud to introduce Jesse, who joined the SERVPRO of Southwest and Northwest Grand Rapids team in 2021. Since then, he’s proven to be an incredible asset, working his way up from Water technician to Team Leader.

Jesse’s journey here has been marked by his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. His customer service skills are top-notch, and he consistently goes above and beyond to ensure our clients receive the best service possible.

Introducing Dylan, our skilled Crew Lead here at SERVPRO Southwest and Northwest Grand Rapids! Dylan joined our team in January 2024, and since then, he’s been an essential part of our crew, bringing his expertise and dedication to every project.

Born and raised in the Upper Peninsula, Dylan brings a unique work ethic and a love for hard work that fits perfectly with our SERVPRO values. We’re grateful to have him on board, and we look forward to all the great things he’ll continue to accomplish with us!

Say hello to Jakob, our talented Lead Technician in the water mitigation department! Jakob joined the SERVPRO team in January 2023, and since then, he’s been an integral part of our operations, leading the charge in water damage restoration with expertise and dedication.

Outside of work, Jakob is all about music, spending time outdoors, and enjoying a good game of disc golf. He’s also a hands-on guy who loves to build — from shelves to birdhouses, he’s always up for a new DIY project.

We’re lucky to have Jakob as part of the team. His leadership, creativity, and passion for problem-solving make him a great fit for our SERVPRO family!

We’re excited to introduce Sean, the newest member of our SERVPRO crew! Although he’s been with us for nearly a year, he’s quickly proven to be a hardworking and dedicated team player.

In his free time, Sean loves staying active with mountain biking and swimming. He’s also a big fan of anything that’s hands-on, whether it’s a new project or a fun craft — he’s always up for getting creative and building something new.

Born and raised right here in Grand Rapids, Dante brings a strong local connection and a great work ethic to every job. When he’s not on the clock, you’ll most likely find him spending quality time with his family — something he values deeply.

Dante is also a huge fan of all things sports, has a passion for politics, and never turns down a good game of spades. In his downtime, he enjoys traveling and exploring new places whenever he gets the chance.

We're excited to welcome Alex to our SERVPRO family! As the newest member of our office team, Alex wears many hats. From answering phones and assisting customers to working closely with insurance adjusters and handling accounts receivable, she keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes.

And as if that wasn’t impressive enough, Alex is also currently pursuing a degree in criminal justice. Talk about multitasking!

When she’s not hard at work or studying, Alex enjoys spending time with her cats, shopping, staying up to date on her favorite TV shows, and Sunday night football.
