The Santa Cruz Mountains present a unique set of challenges when it comes to Water Damage Restoration. This begins with the weather forecast. Seems like you could always add several inches of rain to what is predicted. During the rainy season we experience trees falling, rivers, creeks and streams flooding and road closure which adds to the difficulty of emergency response. When the San Lorenzo River got bottlenecked with debris, nearby communities were flooded. This brings not only water, but also river muck that intrudes into crawlspaces and homes. River water is fraught with bacterial contamination and should be considered a Biohazard.
Seawater falls into this same category. One year, the ocean rise was so high that it flooded the homes along Beach Drive in Aptos on both sides of the road. On the ocean side of the road the tempestuous and angry waters lifted a picnic table and slammed it through the sliding glass doors of one home, flooding it with glass, seawater, sand and silt.
Felled trees are also common during the stormy season and at times fall onto homes, breaking through roofs and facilitating rainwater intrusion. As you can imagine this can be dangerous and life threatening for the occupants.

These guys are quick, responsive, organized, and affordable. We had a fire in a large plastic container on a construction site (in a very large enclosed room) that caused sticky sooty smoke throughout the space (in the rafters, on half-built framing -- everywhere). SERVPRO knew what to do and took care of the clean up immediately. They wiped down every surface (including all the nooks and crannies) with special chemical sponges that took care of a nasty problem. We were VERY impressed.

We had a leak in our bathroom that started the night of the lightning storms that sparked the CZU fires. SERVPRO was on the job quickly and very diligent in checking their equipment every day and adjusting things to dry out the bathroom and adjoining bedroom carpet, hallway hardwood floors, and drywall in 3 different rooms. They were easy to work with when we had to evacuate, and back on the job when we returned.

I had bought a cool vintage dresser that came from a smoker's house and after many months of airing it out, the cigarette smoke smell still lingered. Dropped it off at SERVPRO where it spent some time in their ozonater and just picked it up yesterday. No more smoke smell!
SERVPRO was amazing - we had extensive damage caused by a leaky water line to the ice maker in our fridge (replacing plastic water line with stainless steel going forward!)
They were professional, super responsive, very supportive and understanding during a difficult clean up period (water damage and mold).
Would definitely recommend them for any water damage/mold abatement needs!

Spent five hours on the phone trying to get someone to respond when I suddenly thought of calling SERVPRO. They were incredibly prompt, courteous, professional & so well equipped to deal with the situation! We were so grateful & highly recommend them!
