Why Choose SERVPRO® for Sewage Cleanup?

A sewage backup is one of the most hazardous losses a property in Downtown Houston can experience, and it is not a cleanup to attempt alone. When a sewer line backs up, a toilet overflows in a high-rise stack, or storm water forces its way indoors, it brings what the restoration industry classifies as Category Three water, carrying bacteria, viruses, and other dangerous contaminants. SERVPRO of Downtown Houston/Team Shaw is trained, equipped, and ready to handle these situations safely, responding around the clock to homes and businesses across the city center. Our crews contain the affected area first, then extract the contaminated water and remove porous materials that cannot be safely salvaged, such as soaked carpet, padding, and drywall. We clean and sanitize every affected surface with professional antimicrobial and disinfecting products, then dry the structure completely and verify it has returned to a safe condition. Our technicians follow OSHA safety standards, including bloodborne pathogen protocols, and carry American Bio Recovery Association certification for biohazard work. We document the loss carefully for your insurance carrier. It is worth knowing that sewage backups often require a separate endorsement on a property policy, and we are glad to help you communicate the scope to your adjuster. From the first containment step through final decontamination, our goal is a clean, safe, fully restored space, made “Like it never even happened.”

There are not enough adjectives that relate to the word dissatisfied in the thesaurus. They were hired to mitigate a small mold spot and remove wall paper and paint. They created a NIGHTMARE! We live in a high-rise and they did not use wet vac to sand. Needless to say the dust was not only prohibitive, but a health risk. Our building does not allow VOC paints. They used them after told many times. Looks like legal will need to be involved. Bottom line is if you live with any residents with any lung issues, they are a NIGHTMARE. UPDATE! The owner of this business personally came to visit and remediate the entire situation! He took full responsibility! He was willing to listen and learn! Therefore, I have changed my review to a 5! I believe he cares deeply and is training his entire team very differently after this situation! I wish more BIG businesses would do the same! Take responsibility!!!!

About Us

When water, fire, smoke, or mold damages your home or business anywhere in Downtown Houston, SERVPRO of Downtown Houston/Team Shaw responds 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year. We serve the city center and the neighborhoods around it, from the Theater District, Market Square, and the high-rise condominiums and office towers of the central business district to Discovery Green and the George R. Brown Convention Center, the ballpark and arena districts around Minute Maid Park and Toyota Center, and the lofts and restaurants of EaDo and Midtown. Our certified local crews know this market, a dense urban core where high-rise residences, office towers, hotels, and ground-floor retail sit close together along Buffalo Bayou, and they know how fast Gulf Coast weather, from the floodwaters that follow a tropical system to the hard winter freezes that burst pipes high in a tower, can damage a property.

We provide water damage restoration, fire and smoke damage restoration, mold remediation, sewage and biohazard cleanup, storm and flood recovery, specialty and general cleaning, air duct and HVAC cleaning, contents packout, commercial restoration, and full reconstruction. Every project begins with a clear, documented scope of work for your insurance carrier and is explained to you at each step.

What sets SERVPRO of Downtown Houston/Team Shaw apart is the combination of local knowledge and professional capability. Our crew chiefs and production managers are IICRC certified in Water Damage Restoration, Applied Structural Drying, Fire and Smoke Restoration, Odor Control, and Applied Microbial Remediation. We follow OSHA safety standards, including bloodborne pathogen, fall protection, and respirator protocols, and we carry American Bio Recovery Association certification for biohazard work. We work directly with all major insurance carriers, hold national account status with most, and communicate clearly with your adjuster so your claim keeps moving and closes quickly.

As part of the SERVPRO Team Shaw family and the acclaimed SERVPRO Disaster Recovery Team, with offices in all fifty states, we can scale our response to a single burst supply line on the thirtieth floor or a regional event like Hurricane Harvey in 2017, when Buffalo Bayou overflowed and floodwater filled downtown streets and the convention center, or Hurricane Beryl in 2024, which knocked out power across the city center and brought down trees throughout the inner loop. From a high-rise office tower on Main Street to a loft in EaDo, we bring the same certified crews and the same standards to every job. Whatever the size of the loss, our goal is the same. We work quickly and thoroughly to make your home or business “Like it never even happened.”
