Have a Mold Problem?
What Is the Mold Remediation Process?
Emergency Contact
The mold cleanup and restoration process begins when you call us. Our specialist will ask a series of questions to help us determine the necessary equipment, resources, and personnel needed for you and your home.
Inspection and Mold Damage Assessment
Our professionals will carefully inspect your property for visible signs of mold. Using a variety of technologies, we can detect mold and locate any hidden water sources so the mold will not return once the area is cleaned and the mold removal process has been completed.
Mold Containment
We use various containment procedures to prevent the spread and cross-contamination of mold. All fans and heating and cooling systems will be turned off to prevent the spread as our professionals work to mitigate your mold problem.
Air Filtration
Our specialized filtration equipment allows our professionals to capture microscopic mold spores out of the air. We utilize powerful “air scrubbers” and HEPA vacuums to prevent the spread of these mold spores while the mold remediation is in process.
Removing Mold and Mold-Infested Materials
We use antifungal and antimicrobial treatments to treat mold colonies. When necessary to remediate heavy mold growth, our mold removal process includes the removal and disposal of mold-infested porous materials such as carpeting, drywall, and insulation.
Cleaning
Our professionals clean the structural elements that were infected by mold such as flooring, framing, fixtures, HVAC and mechanical systems. We will also work to improve the indoor air quality (IAQ) of the space. Other items may also require extra attention after a mold infestation, including curtains, décor and important documents.
Restoration
Depending on the level of mold damage, drywall, subfloors, and other building materials may be removed. Restoration may involve minor repairs, such as replacing drywall, painting, and installing new carpet. It may entail major repairs such as the reconstruction of various areas or rooms in your home.

What our
customers are saying
Rob the supervisor was great. He made sure his workers Harry and Alex had all the materials for the job. Harry and Alex were professional, if something was wrong they corrected it right away. Their work was spot on. Both my wife and I were very happy with remodeling.
ServPro was very professional and prompt in dealing with our flood. We were very pleased with their remediation.
Communication was Great!! Never waited long for an answer. Our lead Rob on the job was prompt, handled every single step of the process with ease and perfect communication. Everyone from the initial removal/clean up crew down to the amazing Reconstruction crew were kind / respectful to our home and family and did not miss a day of work! Orlando did a great job with my home and we are very grateful. Our home is a home again after a pipe burst.
We recently had a flood in our basement. Sal arrived quickly, assessed the damage and explained every step of the process so we knew what to expect. Sal and his crew were professional and reassuring during a stressful situation. We highly recommend ServePro of Farmingdale and Massapequa!
Sending a huge thank you to Dan, Rob, Sal, Craig, and the whole team who helped repair my office after a burst pipe destroyed everything. Everyone was incredibly helpful during such a trying time and helped to get us back up and running. I'm so thankful for the whole team at ServPro!
The Servpro of Farmingdale/Massapequa team was truly outstanding — very helpful and got the tough flood clean-up job done so efficiently, professionally and thoroughly! They provided impeccable remediation service. Also, the team was very kind which was an added plus.
Had some frozen pipes that burst and resulted in water damage. From mitigation to completion the process was seamless They even got me in touch with a plumber to come and fix everything super quick When they say like it never happened it’s true Everything looks better than it was before damage!!!
We had a leak in our attic that flooded our 2 bathrooms and affected part of one bedroom. It was a major job. But the entire team, from the guys doing the demolition, to Rob who oversaw the renovation, and to Orlando who did the renovation work, were all incredibly professional, easy to work with, reasonable, very pleasant, and always on top of things. I was wary, because I have never heard of anyone having a good experience with contractors, but I was very pleasantly surprised to have had such a smooth and relatively painless process. I would highly recommend this team to anyone!
Rob, Dan and team were fantastic to work with during a stressful time with a flood in our house. They were professional and accommodating, and the work was done meticulously and neatly. I would highly recommend them to anyone who may need their services.
