Debris containing odor-causing residues will continue to give off odors. That’s why we deal with the source of the odor first.

Clean Residues From Surfaces

After the source of the odor is removed, it’s important to thoroughly clean surfaces to deodorize them effectively. If not properly cleaned, tiny particles of the odor-causing residues will continue to smell.

Recreate the Conditions That Caused Odor Penetration

We apply deodorizer in a method similar to how the odor-causing substances originally penetrated a surface. If smoke created the smell, for instance, deodorizing smoke or fog might be most effective.

Last Friday night, we discovered our dishwasher had been leaking during use. We had used SERVPRO of Northeast last November for a major water leak behind the wall of our shower and they were great, working with us around the Thanksgiving holiday. I knew the current water damage wasn't extensive but wanted to make sure. Pat and Liz came out and checked the saturation levels in the floor. They said to keep what we were doing (portable heater drying out the floor where the dishwasher had been) and to add a fan in the basement to increase airflow from the bottom. He said their service would be too expensive for such a small area and for the saturation level (22%). No charge and said we could call them later in the week if we want them to check the saturation at that time for peace of mind. Very nice people, excellent service, and they were very nice to my dog who couldn't leave them alone. Water damage is a pain and expensive, and SERVPRO helps you through the process and understands.

Our Beginning

Like many Wichitans, Patrick Butler began his career in the aircraft industry, where he developed a strong engineering background. After leaving aviation, he started a handyman business, gaining extensive knowledge of homes and construction. In 2001, Patrick and his business partner, Craig McIlvaine, saw an opportunity in the restoration industry and opened their SERVPRO® franchise. 

Over the past 25 years, the company has grown from a small basement operation into a full-service restoration business with an office, warehouse, and workshop in Wichita. Today, SERVPRO of Northeast Wichita and SERVPRO of Southwest Wichita remain family-owned and operated, with Patrick working alongside his sons, Michael and Sean, all as owners, who continue the values that built the business from the start. 

Our Purpose

When flooding, fire, mold, or storm damage impacts a home or business, our team is often called during some of life's most stressful moments. We understand that restoration is about more than repairing property—it's about helping people recover.
