    Mel Kitchens

    Meet Little Mel, our Production Manager. He has been with SERVPRO since 2013. He has been certified in SERVPRO crew training, IICRC in Water Damage and Restoration, and carpet and upholstery. Recently, he received IICRC certification in Applied Structural Drying.

    If Little Mel could pick one person who has been a hero in his life it would be his Pop pop. He is the first Mintford and if it wasn’t for him he wouldn’t be Mintford Lamar Kitchens lll. He also served our country in the Air Force which means a lot to me.

Her infectious smile and willful attitude brings joy to all she interacts with. Tiki is a proud mother to Haeidyn 11. Tiki's hero's are her parents. They never tell her no, the best parents ever!

    Meet our one newest employee Katie Young, Production Technician. Katie previously worked for a SERVPRO in Northern Michigan. We are so happy she joined our team in July 2023. When she is not with us serving as a hero to our customers she is busy being a mom to her two daughters, Isabella 5 and Paisley 3. Katies hero is her father, a retired Marine. He has been her rock since her mothers passing.

Unfortunately my daughter had a fire at her condo 10 days before her wedding. As you can imagine she was devasted. Servpro came in the morning after to meet with me and the Insurance agent and all i remember is Mel Kitchens and the agent went room by room to access the damage. They reviewed what had to be done and Mel Prioritized all the items (shoes, dresses, Reception items) that need to be handled first. Within 1 week all the Wedding items were PERECT again. The condo was 'redone' the weeks after and it really was "Like it never even happened". Honestly if it hadn't been for Mel and his Team I'm not sure the wedding would have been held on original date..........Our insurance agent Stated "I wish all my Restoration companies were like Mel and Servpro". We had major damage from Hurricane Helene in 2024. We were moved out of our home for ten months while we processed the damage, restored, and rebuilt. ServPro was an absolute blessing during this process! They thoroughly cleaned up damaged areas, worked very well with our contractor, packed up the entire house for storage when we moved out, and moved us back in in the summer of 2025. Every staff member we dealt with was friendly and reliable. Would highly recommend!!!

Welcome to the SERVPRO of Newberry and Laurens Counties website- We are glad you’re here! We are a family owned business that specializes in the clean up and restoration of residential and commercial properties after a disaster has occurred. Our focus and commitment are to help our communities overcome the disasters that impact them and respond to help minimize the interruption to their home or business.  It has been our privilege to serve the Counties of Newberry and Laurens and the many small towns that reside within the upstate of South Carolina since 2011.

Mel and Kimberly Kitchens- originally from South Florida – moved to South Carolina in 2004. The love of water – boating and small communities brought them to Lake Murray.   Both previously in the transportation industry they understand the importance of relationships. They have established roots in the communities that they serve. "We go into our customers' homes and businesses, and they become family and friends" a quote when asked what they love most about their business.

OUR MISSION

We strive to make a difference to our customers.  Living in a small town is like family – what effects them affects us! It can be a mitigation, restoration, abatement, remediation from water, fire, floods, mold, potential biohazardous situations or a simple carpet cleaning – you can count on SERVPRO of Newberry and Laurens Counties to be there!
