SERVPRO teaches IICRC technical classes in the proper removal of odors. We want to make sure you can live comfortably in your own home or even work comfortably. Odors can come from several sources both inside and outside a structure. Listed below are just a few of the services we provide.
- Ozone cars: we wipe down the interior and use an ozone machine to dispel car odors completely.
- Deodorize refrigerators &/or freezers: we use a machine called a fogger with a Bio Odor Neutralizer. This reaches any lingering odors that may hide in the seals of the doors.
- Clean gas, diesel or kerosene on vehicle carpets: we use a Super Concentrated Shampoo and a soft bristled brush to remove the odor from the carpets delicately.
- Remove mothball odor: we use a combination of a negative air machine, the ozone machine, and different products to wipe down any affected areas.
- Remove skunk odor: this job would require a crew to return a few times and have the structure evacuated and ventilated in order for the odor to be completely neutralized.
By identifying the cause of the odor, and determining the conditions where it contacts surfaces, the odor can often be removed over time without a trace. Masking and other shortcuts do not work when your odor problem is severe or persistent. Our technicians have access to several odor removal products capable of penetrating surfaces to neutralize an unpleasant odor thoroughly, so give us a call, and leave the restoration to us.

Debris containing odor-causing residues will continue to give off odors. That’s why we deal with the source of the odor first.
Clean Residues From Surfaces
After the source of the odor is removed, it’s important to thoroughly clean surfaces to deodorize them effectively. If not properly cleaned, tiny particles of the odor-causing residues will continue to smell.
Recreate the Conditions That Caused Odor Penetration
We apply deodorizer in a method similar to how the odor-causing substances originally penetrated a surface. If smoke created the smell, for instance, deodorizing smoke or fog might be most effective.
