So the back story: 5 years ago we had some construction done adding a new kitchen including all new plumbing. Fast forward this past weekend we had a run-of-the-mill clog in the line. Well, what we didn't know was the PVC drain pipe had a saw cut on the top of it. Because the drain was backed up it began leaking out of that cut on the top of the pipe. This flooded one of our downstairs bedrooms. Because we use it as storage it went unnoticed for an extended period of time. It also meant water and kitchen/dishwasher sewage had flooded the room and the carpet, baseboards, walls, and of course caused the ceiling to cave in. We had a mess on our hands for sure.
