Why Choose SERVPRO for HVAC and Air Vent Service?
· Cover/protect all equipment/furniture/surrounding areas from any dust and contaminants with plastic.
· Remove all diffusers/grills and thoroughly wash using a mild disinfectant/water solution. Reset diffusers into their original openings.
· Make access openings into duct work where needed. Install access plates over openings. Seal and guarantee an airtight fit.
· Power vacuum clean, which maintains the duct system at a negative pressure, up to 12k cubic inches per second, while mechanical agitation are used to dislodge all dirt, dust and contaminants, in all supply/return ducts.
· We'll also use portable hepa vacuums to crawl through the duct work, hand vacuum brush and blow back all duct work.
· Pull/clean blower and housing using water and disinfectant.
· Vacuum clean the interior of unit, using portable hepa vacuum and brushes.
· Clean coil in place using water and disinfectant. Also, wet vacs will be used during the cleaning process to remove the sludge from the drain pan and remove excess water during the coil cleanings.
· The wet vacs will allow us to use large amounts of pure water and disinfect for flushing and rinsing the coils after the cleaning, without risking over flow of the drain pans.
· Disinfect all duct work and duct lines, using oxine. Fogging devices will be used as well as hand spraying to apply this product. A Material Safety Data Sheet will be submitted upon initiation of our work.
· After cleaning and disinfecting we will encapsulate duct work for smoke odor, soot and/or mold.

Things You Should Know about HVAC & Air Duct Cleaning
First, system access to the duct interiors should be made through existing openings. This could be via:
- Return grills.
- Duct end caps.
- Existing service openings.
Your SERVPRO technician will often begin by breaking contaminants loose from your system, either by hand or using a vacuum, to agitate dirt and dust. This is a basic, but important step in the HVAC cleaning process.
SERVPRO uses a variety of tools and equipment. It might be mounted on a truck, or they may use portable vacuums. Chemicals may also be used to help sanitize, disinfect, and deodorize air ducts.
