MANY THANKS TO GILBERT FROM SERVPRO. My fire sprinklers in my storage room sprung a leak at 3 am. I only discovered it because I went to the fridge (which is on the opposite side of the wall) and was standing in a puddle of water. When I went to open the door to the storage room, I found water gushing from the ceiling cascading down the walls -- and inches of standing water on the floor. I cut off the water, put in an online insurance claim and called ServPro for help. The young man they sent out to help was Gilbert. He immediately made sure everything was out of the storage room. He then used a bunch of equipment to scan behind the walls and check structural saturation levels. He took hundreds of pictures for claim documentation. Then he set up several fans, a dehumidifier and other machines to start the drying process while he got approval to pull off the drywall and remove the insulation -- because the saturation levels were 100% within the walls and ceiling. Gilbert was very kind and polite and explained everything he did along the way. He also explained everything he was about to do and why it was necessary. The next day, he came back in the morning and got started on removing the soaked drywall and insulation -- which was all of it. In one single day, Gilbert did the entire storage room, ALL OF IT, down to the studs. That included cleaning the floor and spraying the studs and other wood with mold prevention and deodorizing solution so there would be no problems later. Toward the end of the day, I spoke with the insurance company rep and she said she'd received the materials from ServPro and that my coverage would handle the situation. This situation started off as a nightmare. But, Gilbert and ServPro handled it very methodically and with kindness and that really helped lower the stress of it.
