In life you often hear of tragic events that happen to “someone else” but never expect those types of events to happen to you. On September 22nd, 2025 it happened to my family. My wife and I were in the emergency room with my 92 year old mother from very early on that day keeping us away from our home until late that evening. I stayed with my mom in the emergency room and my wife went home to get some much needed rest. The plan was to relieve me the next day. When she walked in our home that night she stepped in water. As you can imagine she was in a panic. I could not leave my mother alone so I called my neighbors who graciously came to help my wife. My next call was to ServPro. Jerry and his crew mobilized and showed up within two hours. He quickly accessed the situation and immediately began to mitigate certain areas to prevent more loss. He updated me every step of the way on the progress during the night which gave me and my family much needed peace of mind. The feeling of helplessness I endured in the beginning by not being able to be on site was quickly alleviated by Jerry’s calm, reassuring demeanor. I hope no one reading this ever has to go through what we went through but they happen more often than we realize. Two things I learned throughout this process - 1) We are so blessed to have special neighbors who will help drop what they are doing and come help you in a pinch day or night and - 2) Call a company like ServPro who has management that are extremely wise enough to hire proffesional people like Jerry and his crew.
