SERVPRO of Barker

Why Choose SERVPRO for HVAC and Air Vent Service?

Your HVAC system repeatedly circulates the same air through the building, so whatever collects in the ductwork gets redistributed with each cycle. Dust, pollen, pet dander, construction debris, and moisture-driven growth all accumulate in there over time. In a system that has never been cleaned, that buildup also makes the equipment work harder than it needs to.

Houston's climate compounds it. Systems run heavily for most of the year, humidity condenses in ducts and drain pans, and spring oak and pine pollen loads the system every year whether the filters catch it or not.

SERVPRO of Barker inspects the system before making any recommendations. Not every system needs cleaning, and we would rather tell you that than sell work that does not change your air quality. When cleaning is warranted, we use commercial vacuum and agitation equipment to remove buildup rather than push it further into the system, and we address the air handler and coils, not just the visible runs.

Duct cleaning also matters after a fire or a water loss. Smoke residue and moisture routinely reach the ductwork even when the damage looks contained to one room, and skipping the system leaves odor and contamination in place.

Things You Should Know about HVAC & Air Duct Cleaning

First, system access to the duct interiors should be made through existing openings. This could be via:

  • Return grills.
  • Duct end caps.
  • Existing service openings.

Your SERVPRO technician will often begin by breaking contaminants loose from your system, either by hand or using a vacuum, to agitate dirt and dust. This is a basic, but important step in the HVAC cleaning process.

SERVPRO uses a variety of tools and equipment. It might be mounted on a truck, or they may use portable vacuums. Chemicals may also be used to help sanitize, disinfect, and deodorize air ducts.
