Sue Steen, CEOSusan L. Steen was named Chief Executive Officer of SERVPRO Industries, Inc. in June 1995. She has been a member of the board of directors since 1990. Steen shares the work ethic upon which the SERVPRO motto, "helping entrepreneurs succeed," was based. The daughter of SERVPRO founder Ted and Doris Isaacson, she grew up with the company in Sacramento, California, where it was originally headquartered. While in high school, she began working for SERVPRO® as a part-time Assistant in the Shipping Department. She worked in several clerical positions and ultimately headed the Accounting Department while obtaining her education at California State University, Sacramento. After graduating from college with a B.S. degree in Business Administration, she joined Coopers & Lybrand.

Steen maintained involvement with SERVPRO® throughout her career by assisting her husband Monty Steen, with financial management of his SERVPRO® franchise in Boise. As a result, she brings to her present position a unique combination of professionalism in corporate management and finance and a lifetime of hands-on experience at every level of SERVPRO® operations.

As CEO, Steen is focused on the development and implementation of strategies to achieve SERVPRO’s goal of having 2000 franchisees producing $1 bullion in gross revenues by the year 2009. She has spearheaded the development of ServproNET®, a nationwide, on-line service to provide optimum efficiency for franchisees. This system improves the franchises’ ability to respond individually and in tandem with other when disaster strikes. In addition to helping franchisees, ServproNET® has made SERVPRO the market leader in utilizing electronic communication to serve clients in the insurance industry. The system will ultimately offer a paperless claims process. Effective in September 1997, insurance projects will be dispatched via ServproNET® to participating franchisees, 85% of whom are targeted to be on-line by July, 1998.

Steen currently resides in Hendersonville, Tennessee, with her husband and three sons.
