SERVPRO® Launches
Revolutionary Electronic "ScanER" Software Program Enables Restoration NASHVILLE, TN Insurance companies can now benefit from a revolutionary, time and cost-saving electronic claims software program called "ScanER," developed by Servpro Industries, Inc., the nations leading disaster restoration, claims mitigation and cleaning franchise system serving the insurance industry. The "ScanER" program allows the 1,017 SERVPRO® franchisees in 49 states to offer insurance clients comprehensive estimating and reporting information on claims mitigation activities across the country. SERVPRO® franchisees utilize a software program to create an "electronic job file," which includes an estimate, digital photos of the property, and scanned documents such as customer satisfaction forms with signatures. Franchisees then send the electronic job file via the Internet to a secure corporate web site, www.servpronet.com, where the information is available to insurance clients with the use of an exclusive password. The file includes detailed time and date information, so that clients can track responsiveness of SERVPRO® franchisees and the progress of a claim. In addition to information on individual claims, insurance clients can access a database with comprehensive information about all their work with SERVPRO®. For example, statistics can be compiled on the number and location of an insurance companys claims in any region. "ScanER will allow us to provide our insurance clients with a valuable new service at no additional cost," said Sue Steen, CEO of Servpro Industries, Inc. "Importantly, this electronic process will assist insurance companies in closing claims faster, thus helping them to serve their customers better, while also saving money. Our goal is to always look for new ways to meet the needs of our clients." "ScanER" was unveiled at the SERVPRO® annual national convention, which took place in late June. Franchisees have already begun to create electronic job files with the new program. SERVPRO® insurance clients include many of the countrys leading companies, such as SAFECO Inc., Travelers Insurance, Allstate Insurance Company, Farmers Insurance and CNA. Approximately 150 insurance executives already make use of the SERVPRO® web site for basic information on claims. "ScanER" will give these users a dramatically increased depth of information. The program is also expected to spur a significant rise in the number of insurance client users. "The ScanER program is unique in our industry," said Steve Leger, chief information officer of Servpro Industries, Inc. "Unlike other vendors, we are offering this service in-house, saving our clients the expense of using an outside company to provide electronic connectivity. Were very proud of this new capability and look forward to insurance companies partnering with us in this innovative approach to our business." Founded in 1967, Servpro Industries, Inc. is the nation's leading disaster restoration and cleaning franchise system, with 1017 SERVPRO® franchisees in 49 states.
